Novak Djokovic – chaos consciously and incompetently provided by the Australian Government and Team Australia on Djokovic’s eligibility to take part in the Ausralian Open event this 2022 Jan.
Amongst many others, I have derived a lot of pleasure watching the magic of Djokovic’s tennis skills. However, it does appear to be the case that the Australian Government and Team Australia have not enforced the ban that nearly all other tennis players have had to face.
Could this be because he might be the best tennis player in the world? Can those be acceptable grounds for such discrimination ?
It looks as if this is the case. And does this not constitute explicit “bending of the rules” allowing him to take part? A case of fraud? Hardly fair on Nadal or Federer who have each had the same number of open wins as ND!
Could they take legal action against such discrimination? It appears that Djokovic despite his highly vocal opposition to vaccinations and the lack of proof that he fulfills the conditions for participating may well get a favourable verdict allowing him to participate in the open, despite the statement from the Australian PM that “rules are rules, and they are to be applied”. Consistently without exceptions. Sounds like a quote from the UK PM, who seems to believe any rules he draws up should not apply to him nor his wife! But to everyone else. Hence the mounting backbench opposition which may well lead to his removal from office, within 6 months I would guess!
If this turns out to be the case, I for one will boycott watching any of ND’s appearances and many others may choose to do the same.
In support of this, Djokovic has openly admitted, that the information given by his team was incorrect, as the wrong column for his visa application had been wrongly ticked. Merely a “human error”!!
The following day Djokovic appeared at a prize-giving without a facemask and without observing social distancing rules after testing positive (Dec 17th) and again on Dec 18 when interviewed by a journalist after testing positive for the corona virus and again not observing social distancing recommendations nor wearing a face mask.
All this against the backdrop in Australia where highly rigorous quarantine conditions have been applied to the Australian population making it illegal for them to be within the limits of the social distancing rules and socially in touch with people who were not followig the rules.
I for one intend to boycott watching any matches Novak Djokovic may appear in during this tournament.
SAME RULES FOR THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD AS FOR OTHER PLAYERS. RULES ARE RULES NO MATTER WHETHER YOU ARE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD AND ABLE TO MAKE A MOCKERY OF THE LAWMAKERS IN THE AUSTRALIAN LEGAL ESTABLISHMENT.
